There is a misunderstood stigma around Mental Health and Chemical Imbalance that needs to be released.  We need understand Mental Illness and learn more about what those who suffer are going through and figure out ways to help them heal.  A  lot of times admitting there is a problem is the first step.  There are varying degress of Chemical Imbalance and varying ways to help people who are suffering.  Sometimes people need professional help, counseling and medication and sometimes people need to eat better, exercise, meditate or get out into nature.  It all depends on your diagnoses or lack thereof and what your ailment is.  It's important to understand that those who suffer are not weak.  It is an illness that, depending on the amount of trauma one has suffered in their lifetime and depending on their genes can get much worse over time without help, treatment, knowledge or support.

I want raise money to bring awareness to this and help people feel better.  I want to help those who suffer find solutions and an understanding.  I will walk the Pacific Crest Trail starting in April 2020 with a goal of raising $1/mile minimum.  This is my minimum goal, however, I hope to raise much more than that, I am open to a positive outcome in hopes of bringing light to Mental Health Awareness.  If our general population could understand Mental Health/Chemical Imbalance and offer help/support I believe we would have a lot less crime, violence, suicide, homeless and unemployed people.

ABOUT Pacific Crest Trail

1 in 4 families is affected by mental illness.

I chose to make HIKE for Mental Health a part of my Pacific Crest Trail hike so I can raise funds for a great cause and reduce the stigma of mental illness.
