Pacific Crest Trail
Hikers and riders alike are invited to sign up
The PCT runs from Mexico to Canada along the spine of the Sierra Nevadas and Cascades.
Whether this is your first long distance hike or you are working to complete your Triple Crown of hiking, we would love to have you on the HIKE for Mental Health team.
Since our founding in 2011, long distance hikers who register with HIKE for Mental Health and their sponsors have raised more than $130,000 for trail conservancy and mental health research. We thank and congratulate them all.
By registering your thru hike with HIKE for Mental Health, you share your story with others, help to raise awareness about an issue that affects 1 in 4 American families, and raise funds to help maintain wilderness trails and alleviate the suffering from mental illness.
Registering your thru hike is totally free. You still plan and hike your thru hike your way, from start to end.
How Does It Work?
Signing up with HIKE for Mental Health creates a great bond for thru hikers on the trail and provides added motivation when the going gets tough.
Signing up on our site is easy and free. You will be able to personalize a donation page and share your inspirations with others.
Then just tell all your friends and family what you are doing. Links to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. are right on the page to make it easy.
Supporters leave encouraging notes and make donations on your personal page so you can watch your donation thermometer rise with each donation.

Where the Money Goes
HIKE for Mental Health is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
All contributions are tax deductible, and 100% of the hike donations support our mission.
Eighty cents of every dollar funds mental health programs, including break-through scientific research into PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar spectrum disorders, depression and other major mental ilnesses. Through research we can find better ways to alleviate the suffering that affects 1 in 4 American families.
The remaining twenty cents maintains wilderness trails across the country. By supporting the PCTA and other non-profit, volunteer groups that care for our trails, we help preserve wilderness experiences for generations to come. Where the money goes.
If you have any questions or ideas, please contact us.
We are glad to talk with you about your thru hike and how you can help HIKE for Mental Health.
We hope you will make HIKE for Mental Health a part of your thru-hike.
