Hell my friends,

Yes, it is my life’s dream to complete my Appalatian Trail thru hike. I’ve been section hiking it for a few years now, but due to circumstance I cannot put off completing it ASAP. I love the trail. I even love accepting any challenges she throws at me. I want to experience everything. Rain, snow, wind, sunny days, cloud cover, but most of all the people. The townsfolk who welcome you. The hostels that allow you to rest and re energize. Especially the other hikers. Some are taking a break from life, others may be taking a time out from some issue they must contemplate. Who knows, if they want to talk, I’ll be right there to listen. They are my friends, and if you love or care about me, they will be your friends to. It’s no secret, I’m different, I generally do not fit in. I accept it. Do you?  I’m not asking for anything from you, but your love and you feeling the joy of knowing when I’m in nature, my mind is at ease. But, if you have the monies to spare, maybe give a penny for each mile I hike. Us, and I did say, US mentally different folks, need a helping hand. We do !!!! We simply put DO.   So, just simply give what could amount to the price of a Latte’. If you cannot afford to give, then just simply pray for my hike to be rewarding. I LOVE EVERYONE!! I do not care what makes you different!! We all are children of god and should walk as Jesus did. With no pre- judgements and open arms, hearts and souls. We are ALL brothers and sistas !!! Let’s act as we are one and the same. We’re all striving for the same goals. To be loved, cared about, accepted for our differences. Yeppers, were all different in some way.

ABOUT Appalachian Trail

1 in 4 families is affected by mental illness.

I chose to make HIKE for Mental Health a part of my Appalachian Trail hike so I can raise funds for a great cause and reduce the stigma of mental illness.

HIKE for Mental Health is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded on the vision of a world in which everyone, including those who suffer mental illness, can find the simple joy of living.

Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of those afflicted by mental illness, eliminate the associated stigma, and to foster responsible use of wilderness trails.

As an all-volunteer organization, we distribute 100% of contributions raised by our hikers.

  • 80 cents from every dollar funds scientific research to prevent, cure, and treat mental illness
  • 20 cents maintains and preserves wilderness trails
